Today

Today I awake, a new day.

I feel taller, bigger, better.

I am a man! I am happy!

I feel alive and fresh.

It’s great to be alive,

I see the path before me.

I know where to be, what to do.

Is it not clear to you, too?

I deny the pain I feel.

It goes away with a thought.

I shake off my fears.

Why do they keep coming back?

Fear confuses me

It clouds my judgment.

Perhaps I’m not so clear.

But then again, it’s not today!
