Poetry
Since 1994 I’ve been writing poetry. I wouldn’t say that I’m good, but some of them have been published by Poetry.com with two poems, “Yesterday & Today” and “The Dance” (which will be included on a separate page). You can visit the links for those poems here: Yesterday & Today and The Dance. Poetry is a brief expression of emotion. Although most poetry follows some form of rhyme, meter, or combination, not all poetry is so limited. Some also believe that poetry must fit within a certain limit of lines (for example, Poetry.com limits their entries to be less than 20 lines). These two are not so limited (see examples such as Homer’s Odyssey and Iliad or Milton’s Paradise Lost).
Most of my poetry is for something, someone or some group. In these instances, I will specify who, what or when at the bottom of the poem. There will also be a series of poems that will be dedicated to one person. That will be specified on the “cover” page for that collection. If you enjoy a poem, please feel free to express that (good feedback helps to inspire for more…but not necessarily essential). Likewise, if you feel something is off base, poorly written, or lacks emotional weight, please do not hesitate to say something. (I’m writing this wondering if comments are available on these “pages”).
The bottom line: Enjoy, or not at your own leisure.
Also note that not all of my poetry is on this page. I’ve written some poems that I’ve given the only copy to friends, family or whomever was the inspiration.
