Work stuff

Counseling

  • Mentor (I work graveyards right now). It’s a transition home for young adult men and women in addiction recovery. The men’s house is separate from the women’s house.
  • Supervisor and counselor. Its an RTC (residential treatment facility) for young teens (12-20) going through intensive rehabilitation from criminal and drug related activities. “TCI sucks!”
  • Para-Educator. Working with the public schools and mental health industry to assist children (10-16) with developmental disabilities combined with some form of mental health issue that has hindered their progress in traditional public education (basically it’s a step before an RTC). “No Child Left Behind is a Lie!”

Restaurant/Bartending

  • A bar in Downtown Golden with a lot of history and a lot more attitude. It’s basically a biker bar in a biker/beer/college town. It caters to all crowds, but mostly to the crew of the owners, which are all bikers (members of the SOS, Son’s of Silence, but also related to other large gangs…they even hosted a party for the head honcho of the Hell’s Angels, which didn’t turn out so well, I heard).
  • One of the many Colorado Mexican food chains, but one of the oldest. I worked at the SW Plaza store, which was one of the first locations, and one of the best locations. However, I over stayed my welcome and worked there longer than was beneficial for me and the company. I left by cussing out the manager for stealing from me. (I still hold that it was either him or his assistant manager).
  • A locally owned restaurant/bar that was home to my first Karaoke experience…sorta. It’s a upscale restaurant with some character…and a lot of unnecessary frills. It doesn’t pay much better than the ‘Dillo, and it tried way too hard if you ask me.
